Can you believe it's already March again?
This year, March is supposed to be extra special as we are experiencing once-in-a-lifetime cosmic shifts, marking it a time for transformation and growth. Exciting, huh?
I am excited also because March happens to be my birthday month, which over the past years, I reclaimed as the time I take for myself, to reflect on another trip around the sun and recharge in the places where I feel most at home.
In the past, those were Bali, Mexico, and Thailand - all places that now hold a special place in my heart. And this year, I have a new destination in mind that I can't wait to explore but let's save that for later.
Today, I want to focus on my experience in Thailand, where I was in for the best surprise for my birthday last year - Colours of Love!
Describing this event as a festival would be an understatement - it was truly a five-day journey through music, art, wellness, and ceremony.
Venturing to an event like this solo can be a little doubting, but as soon as I arrived at Haad Wai Nam, I felt an overwhelming sense of belonging. The community welcomed me with open arms, and I knew right away that this was an experience I'd remember forever.

What makes Colours of Love different?
Community
Colours of Love is first and foremost a community uniting people from all walks of life: from artists, healers, and musicians, to business people and everything in between. It’s a place of radical self-expression and acceptance, a place where you can come as your authentic self and have the most profound conversations with people you had just met.

Dream Activation
Dream Activation is the central theme of all Colours of Love gatherings and what is meant by it is really - manifestation, the process of envisioning what it is you want to create, be, share, or do in the world and birthing it into fruition.
Bringing together a community of passionate dreamers and creators and uniting in unforgettable experiences, trust me it is the ultimate way to awaken to your highest potential and plant the seed for this dream of yours!

Location
Nested in a tropical paradise in the east coast of Koh Phangan, the area is accessible only by boat and surrounded by stunning views and beaches. Most people stay in bungalows next to the sea, each with varying proximity to the main beach, Wai Nam. Since I was late to book, I found myself staying on Haad Yuan Beach, a half-hour walk away from Wai Nam through sights as the ones you see below.

Despite the heat and sweat, walking through the bays was pure magic, especially at night when the area transforms into a jungle, leaving you feeling deeply connected to the nature. My favourite part was coming back to my bungalow from a dance session and taking a swim in the moonlit ocean - incredible feeling!
The Programme
Music & Art
Music is the soul lubricant that weaves the Colours of Love community together. Robbie Akbal and Marques Wyatt, famous also at the playa on Burning Man, were some of the headlines from last year. Next to the main shows, there were intimate concerts and impromptu music jams. However, what made the experience truly magical was the sense of community - DJs and other artists weren't just there to perform, they were part of the family.
My personal highlight was spending the Saturday (which was also my birthday) on a float of boats in the middle of a secluded bay area, surrounded by pure pacha mama's beauty.
Each boat had its own special atmosphere, offering a range of services from massages to tarot readings, and of course, amazing beats.
Even if I tried to plan a celebration, it would have never turned out so amazing! I am forever grateful for this experience!
Art was not limited to the stages and music at Colours of Love. It was present everywhere, from the self-expression of the participants to the movie premieres that we watched cozily under the stars and inspiring talks.
Some of the special guests were Pete, the founder of Wonderfruit festival, who talked about his journey of creating one of the most famous and sustainable festivals globally!
We were also graced with the presence of one of Thailand's pop stars, Notep, who has now left the scene to focus on her conservation efforts and sustainable brand.
Wellness & Ceremony
From the opening cacao ceremony by the one and only Cacao King, to the deeply nourishing meals at the Wai Nam bar and community dinners to the daily yoga and meditation sessions, there were countless opportunities to connect with oneself and others in a meaningful way.
Notep guided us through a blindfolded movement meditation, which was truly powerful. I was amazed by how it allowed me to release and reconnect with my inner child.
The beautiful surroundings added to the overall wellness experience and with the no-phone policy, I was able to fully disconnect from the outside world and immerse myself in the experience.
Through multiple workshops, we were encouraged to open up and embrace vulnerability, fostering a deeper connection amongst us.
Underneath the starry night sky, we enjoyed beautiful concerts and cuddles, experiencing a profound sense of unity.
But the dream activation ceremony was the ultimate highlight, elevating my sense of purpose and empowering me to pursue my dreams long after Colours of Love had ended.
